Fundraising Report 2023

Thanks to Andover Newton’s faithful donors, fundraising momentum continues to build.

Each year since 2018, Andover Newton Seminary at Yale Divinity School has increased its Annual Fund goal by 5-7% compared to the previous year’s goal. For the fifth year, Andover Newton Seminary at Yale Divinity School exceeded its goal for the annual fund. These dollars support day-to-day operations, faculty lines, programs, academics, personnel, and student financial aid.

The Annual Fund goal in FY23 was $280,000. The grand total was $300,047 – exceeding the goal by  $20,000 (or 7%).

This was the first year that the partners on the Sterling Quad – Andover Newton Seminary, Yale Divinity School, and Berkeley Divinity School – were able to cover all demonstrated need for tuition. This is the first milestone in student financial support, but we’re not done yet. The next phase of this initiative is to cover all unmet needs, including housing and other expenses, which make up the majority of debt students graduate with.

As we collectively move toward this goal of covering all demonstrated needs, Andover Newton constituents generously supported endowed scholarships, thereby increasing the aid we will be able to offer in the future.

Scholarships that received additional funding this year were:

Further donations can be made to any of the scholarships listed above or to any other preexisting endowed scholarship
(Contact Ned Allyn Parker for more information).

Named Scholarships can also be created with a gift or pledge of $50,000.

We celebrate the phased rollout of Andover Newton’s campaign, Leading with Love, and the contributions that are building momentum to an even brighter future.

As we “Lead with Love” toward meeting the demonstrated needs of students, we also prioritize the following:

Emmaus Encounters: Building Community on the Road

While Andover Newton is on dry ground now, the water is rising for all theological schools and the churches their graduates serve. Now is the time to strengthen the school’s foundation to ensure a vibrant future. Andover Newton is taking a bold stance of hope for faith communities’ ongoing relevance and potential. Philanthropic support will make this vision a reality. Investing in this campaign will immediately make a difference for students and shift the landscape for students and churches of the future.
